Glowscope
This project solves poor visibility during life-saving airway procedures, especially where equipment is limited or fails. It introduces a low-cost, wearable light device that improves visibility, making intubation faster, safer, and easier.
Outcome Metrics
- Tested in simulated endotracheal intubation scenarios demonstrating stable and consistent illumination. The device supports approximately ~10 procedures per full charge (rechargeable model) and ~20 procedures using replaceable batteries. It improved visualization of the glottis, reduced dependency on laryngoscope light sources, and enhanced procedural reliability, especially in low-light and emergency conditions.
Achievements
- Winner of the Medical Innovation Bootcamp (MEDIC) 2024
- Represented GlowScope at PULSE 2026, a state-level medical innovation and healthcare summit
